Northern Longfist - Southern White Crane - Southern Five Animals
We offer three styles of kung fu. Students begin with the basic drills and forms of Longfist. After building a solid foundation we introduce the southern styles into the curriculum. Although we train the styles side by side we keep them distinct and as pure as possible. At an advanced level students may wish to specialize in a particular style. Once a student has completed the basic empty hand forms weapons training is included throughout the curriculum.
Yang Style - Guang Ping Style
Yang style Tai Chi is the most commonly practiced in the world. It's gentle, flowing movements make it appropriate for any age and level of fitness. Although the class focuses on the health aspects of Tai Chi, we also train the martial arts applications for those students who are interested. Guang Ping Tai Chi is a branch of the Yang style but is classified as a distinct system due to it's more athletically demanding postures and martial flavor.
Hsing I Ch'uan - Bagua Zhang
Hsing I Ch'uan is an old style and although it is often grouped with Tai Chi in the category of "internal" styles it is very direct in its movements with a strong emphasis on structure and power. Bagua Zhang is a newer system that empoys circling footwork and coiling power. These are advanced styles that are available to students who have gained a solid foundation in Tai Chi.
Health - Martial Power - Meditation
We offer several Chi Gung sets and while they all have health benifits they each have a different emphasis. Some are designed to supplement a martial style while others are strictly for health and meditation. Each set has a unique feel and rather than learn them all, students are encouraged to learn and practice the sets that work best for them. The various Chi Gung sets are included throughout the regular classes.
